SpoofStick Update
We’ve just released a new version SpoofStick for Internet Explorer (v. 1.02) that addresses a newly discovered IE flaw described by this Secunia advisory. As always, you can download the latest version at the CoreStreet SpoofStick homepage.
The flaw is not present in FireFox, so no update to the FireFox version of SpoofStick is necessary.
For those of you keeping count, we’ve had over 130,000 downloads of SpoofStick since the official release three months ago.
[Update: Oooh, that’s an average of about one download every minute.]

It's been suggested I download Spoofstick and I have. However, since I'm not that knowledgeable, how do I get an icon on my desktop -- something I can "double click to run, follow instructions, restart all copies of IE....". All I have in My Programs is Uninstall. So frustrating!

This isn’t the place for SpoofStick support questions – you should send email to spoofstick-AT-corestreet-DOT-com. However, it sounds like you’ve already installed SpoofStick. You probably executed the .exe file directly from the website instead of saving it to disk. This might be a browser setting on your end. Reboot your computer and restart IE. SpoofStick should appear on your IE toolbar. If it doesn’t, go to View->Tollbars and make sure that SpoofStick is checked. If you still have problems, send a note to the email address above.

Like having the spoofstick Toolbar but am using Maxthon (MYIE2)browser over IE and Firefox. Is there any plan to develop a Spoofstick version that will be compatible with this browser? There have been several posts in the Maxthon Forums indicating that others are interested as well but there appears to be no help from that end. Just putting in my 2 cents and hoping that you are aware and may be able to help out.

Will you develop a SpoofStick for other operating systems, such as ME?

Steven Vas.

I downloaded SpoofStick and really like it but since I've installed WEBEYES, spoofstick has disappeared from my IE bar. It is still ON my computer, but does not show in IE like before. There is nothing but UNINSTALL on the program list, so I cannot go there and try to RUN it. Any suggestions?

I encountered a problem with both v1.01 & 1.02 using IE with WinXp Pro, SP-2. If I load a hurricane tracker from my loacl TV station website which loads the Sun Java applet, when I close IE I get a message that says it has a problem with the Spoofstick applet.

Tom,
Strange. Can you send me the URL of the hurricane tracker?

The comments over on the Firefox pages seem to be making a feature request. They want the message without the additional toolbar. ...Perhaps a titlebar mode or a textbox that could be added to any toolbar. Anyway, the work is clearly appreciated; I leave mine on all the time (almost).

Thanks. A titlebar mode is a good idea!

So not only do you not like the Panda grammar book, you're responsible for Spoofstick, too?!?
When I saw it as a Firefox extension, I thought it was the most dimwitted thing I'd ever seen. Who doesn't have the sense to check where they're browsing. I was so inredulous, I went to the Spoofstick homepage. After reading an example or so, I immediately downloaded and installed the extension.
Kudos!
It's the second most wonderful thing since sliced bread (Firefox itself would have to be the most wonderful thing)!

Why does spoofstick write its results into its toolbar rather than write its results into the title bar of the Internet Explorer window instead? That's the kind of information the title bar was designed to display.

I like it just the way it is! It makes vital information stand out. On the title bar it would be less obvious.

I installed version 1.02 for IE and it works fine except when I view PDF files. I have no problems with the PDF files themselves; however when I close the PDF file window, I get a message telling me that a problem was encountered with an add-on. After clicking OK on the prompts, all of my IE windows get closed and I have to restart IE. I disabled spoof stick and I no longer encounter the problem. This leads me to believe that an imcompatibility exists between spoof stick and Adobe. Do you have any advice?

If you make it so I will be able to drag other things on the SS toolbar OR be able to put SS somewhere else...
I will love you forever.
Or not.

Hi, your disclaimer about Firefox is not true. Secunia even announced that Firefox 1.0.4 reintroduced the flaw. We have had several users complain about web page redirections that fail after installing spoofstick and this version of firefox.

I keep getting the message: "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with the Add-On, SpoofStick and needs to close." This happens on both of my computers. One is a new Dell running XPHome,SP2 and the other is a two year old AWARD running XP Professional, SP2. Both have IEv6. Both are otherwise running well. The suggestions I got were: update SpoofStick but I believe that the version I have 1.02 is the most current. They also suggest disabling it if the problem persists. I would rather not do that since I do like it. It has 'turned me on' to several spoofed sites in the last two weeks. I just wanted to report this to you so you know. Any ideas or suggestions?
(Both have Norton SystemWorks 2004, tons of available memory, shared broadband connection)

What's happened to the new version 1.06 of Spoofstick? Is avalable only on fileforum.betanews.com and no more on the official website.
Can someone tell me why?

Only wish there were a way to shrink the icon and text even more than "Small" for Firefox 1.5. Perhaps by adding an option for "Extra Small" or editing the "userChrome.css".
Anyone know how?

Spoofstick is the most useful and stable security toolbar for Firefox available on the net.
Why don't you contact tha administrator of babelzilla.org to localize it into various languages? It will be more useful for all the foreign users that don't speak english.
What do you think about my idea?

I'm using IE6 on a Windows 2000 system. Spoofstick worked at one point, but now positions itself so far to the right of any open browser window I can only see the logo and the word "You" which is totally useless. I see no way to reconfigure it to make the results visible.

Hi Phil
Get yer thinking head on my man.
I suggested someone download spoofstick and it crashed their computer to the extent that they were forced to system restore to fix the problem.
Now I realise that any one of a hundred things could have caused that but with the limited information you have to hand can you give me your best guess please?

Now I tryed 3 times to download it but all 3 times it's says it set up but it's not working. The ony thing I can do after downloading spoofstick is uninstall it?

After reading about all the problems that surfaced when users installed your program, I decided not to install SpoofStick.
