New version of SpoofStick for Firefox

A new version of SpoofStick is out for Firefox.  Version 1.05 addresses two of the most common recent user comments:

  1. Addresses the recently discovered Mozilla "IDN" vulnerability described at http://www.shmoo.com/idn/ .
  2. SpoofStick is now a draggable, resizable toolbar button.

As always, you can download the latest version from the SpoofStick home page.

Did all the above and think its GREAT!!. Perhaps in the next revision if you have time, could you add a option or hardcode it so the icon would flash, maybe in blood red, to bring it to my inattentiveness that I am not where I am suppose to be.

Thanks,

Ken

First, I'd like to thank you for making this great tool available.

Second, can you guys make this more configurable as far as text size goes? Even on small, it's twice the size of my menu text.

Hi phil,
Already have sent u mail, but also sending it this way. Liked both of the suggestions above although the last one is much more better. Don't know what other responses did u get but I like my security. Thanx anyway for a great extension hopefully will get updated to support FF 1.5 series :-)

Just wondering what the plan was for updating SpoofStick for FF 1.5 and beyond?

Hi Phil - Just discovered your site while searching (in vain) for a Spoofstick download compatible with Firefox 1.5 - I'm enjoying what I've read so far...thanks...

I also hope you can find the time to update Spoofstick for FF. I feel naked and vulnerable without it. I never realized how much I relied on it until it was gone. In any case I thank you for the peace of mind it has given me up until now.

Spoofstick is a good app, but actually is not compatible with Firefox 1.5. I hope in a new version as soon as possible.

Have been using Spoofstick ever since it was first available...not planning to upgrade to FF 1.5 until Spoofstick has a compatible version as well :-)

Please pretty please make a compatible version of Spoofstick for Firefox 1.5. It was a mistake upgrading my Firefox without making sure about the compatibility between the two products. A new version is coming up very soon, perhaps?

Dude, SpoofStick for FF 1.5 please! Getting rid of IE for security reasons and I can't put the cherry on top of the project... I mean it _is_ quite cool.

Thanks,

Sean

Hi Phil:

Have been using Spoofstick ever since it first came out. I also feel naked and vulnerable without it. I also never realized how much I relied on it until it was gone. Hope you are able to upgrade Spoofstick for Firefox V1.5 very soon so that we all will feel more secure once again.

Me too!!! Me too!!!

How large a pile of donations (or wish list items) would it take to get Spoof Stick updated?

It's an excellent product—and I feel kinda cheap nagging about getting an upgrade for something that was free (to me) in the first place. While I still have a little $$ lying around, let us know

Any plans to update the IE version? IE6 with the latest MS updates has a tendency to crash, blaming the problem on SpoofStick!

Also, any plans to remove the preceding pornographic comment?

When will the Firefox 1.5.0.4 compatible version be available?

Dear Sir,

SpoofStick for MSIE works well on MSIE6, but when I applied the one for the latest Firefox, I would have a problem. Whenever I would boot up Firefox, a message from the newly installed SpoofStick would just hang there indefinitely and I had to use another browser to get online. I could not cancel it out either. I had to uninstall Firefox and I will be reinstalling it to see what happens, but I thought that you would want to know about this problem.

I am using MS Windows XP Home with SP2 and all updates.

I would appreciate some help.

Thanks.

I'm running Firefox v2.0.0.10 and Internet Explorer v7. I see Spoofstick has not been updated for a couple of years. Is that because it is no longer needed?
Have these two browsers incorporated the features of SpoofStick?
Thanks,
